About

tabHu is a place where people can gain and practice artistic and personal skills, performing an art, not necessarily to move to the professional field, but to grow as a person and as a member of a community. A School not bounded by assignments, credits, and accreditations standards, but a place people can grow in for as long as they need.

The School will also be a platform for highly skilled Australian and international artist to share, deliver and create a laboratory where they can express, teach, and therefore conserve their art.

This model is popular in European countries where people of all ages join acting classes after work, as part of their personal and social development.

In addition, this School wishes to become a welcoming port for newly arrived immigrants to join and start connecting with the SA community while sharing their country of origin performing arts participating in our classes.

It is largely recognized that performing an art and cultivating artistic cultural diversity have important benefits for the society at large. (Australia Council for the Arts 2015, World Economic Forum (2021), Australian Human Rights Commission (2017)).

The benefits of stage arts on people are widely recognized and largely used e.g. to teach social skills and to help people to process a trauma.

Other benefits include:

  • Improved self-awareness strengths and weaknesses

  • Public speaking and voice projection skills

  • Improved spatial awareness

  • Enhanced self confidence

  • Working in a group, teamwork, building trust in others

  • Improved communication and presentation skills
