Acting Classes
At tabHu we believe that life is improved by performing arts, that acting, and performance are emotional activities that feed the soul, and that pleasure is found in the simple act of taking part. It is a place to learn and share, to grow and connect, to discover new identities, or even to reinvent yourself.
tabHu has not assignments and exams. It is instead a place of shared curiosity and respectful expression of culture, self, and story.
Courses are open to adults and we encourage all cultures and backgrounds.

Adelaide
Adelaide classes will take place at Slingsby’s Hall of Possibilities, 96-98 Glen Osmond Road, Parkside SA 5063.
Grow your Stage Awareness and sensitivity and learn helpful techniques to increase presence and availability as performer. The sessions offer physical and voice based practices to engage on a journey of character exploration and character building.
Finishing off the sessions with a group presentation consisting of devised solo’s and ensemble works, containing snippets, thoughts, ideas and gems discovered throughout the season journey.

Classes will take place on Wednesday nights between 7 and 9 PM between 2nd of April and 19th of November 2025 for a total of 30 classes. Breaks are foreseen on July 30th and between August 27th and September 10th.
The cost for the full course is $837.

Melbourne
Melbourne Classes will take place at the Dancehouse 150 Princes St, Carlton North VIC 3054
tabHu Melbourne is a new laboratory style training and performance program. First Module will start on March 13th 2025 until June 26th 2025, for a total of 12 classes, held (generally, with some exceptions) on Thursday night from 6 to 8 PM.
Second Module will be published at the beginning of 2025
This year-long program prepares passionate individuals with the skills to develop the holistic performer through the exploration of voice, body, text, and expression by exploring original, diverse and integrative actor training methodologies.
The coordinator of the tabHu’s Melbourne studio, Dr Robert Lewis (Certified Integrative Practitioner from the One Voice Centre, New York), will take participants through a series of exploratory training that puts human connection as the forefront of the experience. Lewis uses the practical system outlined in his book ‘The Third Space: Body, Voice, and Imagination’ (Routledge, 2024), which is way of working that unlocks the imagination as well as connecting performers to self and space, through voice and body. It conditions, controls, and engages performers by integrating various voice and movement practices to create the holistic performer.
Throughout this course, participants will explore these steps by commencing with breath and physical conditioning, trough to connecting body, voice, and imagination to space, and connecting the human instrument and text through the exploration of internal and external imagery. The course will culminate in a public showcase performance.
